So said famed perfumer Jacques Cavallier some 20 years ago. To us this quote perfectly sums up the mystique of perfumery. We may never know which farm in Grasse grows the best roses or why we connect so deeply with a certain scent. And we don’t need to.

Inspired by all the secrets perfumers keep, we started using the name What We Do Is Secret® as a DBA for our art studio in 2005 and then subsequently launched our namesake perfume blog. It only seemed fitting to embrace our over 20 year history by returning to a name so perfectly aligned with the allure of scent.
